The types for the DM4 series are soft starters for standard three-phase asynchronous motors. Depending on the connection type, the performance range is from 7.5 kW to 500 kW at 400 V (standard connection) or 11 kW to 900 kW at 400 V with connection In-Delta. In doing so, each phase of the soft starter is connected in series with the individual motor windings (6 lines required, motor delta-connected only). The DM4 series has a application selector switch set with the parameter sets for different standard applications.there is no longer a need for manual setting for different applications and its associated risk of errors. An optional keypad with clear text display is available for the complete control. All parameters of the soft starter can be displayed and edited using this. Next to the possibility of also selecting the pre-programmed application-specific parameter sets here, these settings can also be finely adapted using the keypad.The keypad is also required for reprogramming the digital and analog I/O of the soft starter. Interface modules can be used as an alternative to the keypad. These offer the same options for making changes to the device as with the keypad. The soft starter can therefore be integrated into a PLC via PROFIBUS.Typical fields of application for the soft starter: pump drive pressure surges are avoided by the soft start.the mechanical load on the whole plant is reduced and its service life increases.
